Q: Lately, the number of traffic accidents is increasing in Japan. Some experts notice the possibility of the tram as good transportation. Discuss both views and give your opinion. Write at least 250 words.

Since the high economic growth in the 20th century, some trams were abolished as trouble for car drivers. As a result, traffic accidents are increasing within three decades. Thus, lately, some experts began to reconsider the possibilities of the tram. In my view, the tram is a convenient vehicle. This essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the tram.

On the one hand, tram users can conserve time and money well more than car drivers. For example, car drivers should pay an expensive fee for a car inspection. Moreover, they have to wait a long time for congestion or a line in the parking lot. As a result, car drivers waste valuable time and money. In contrast, tram passengers can utilize time and money as compared to car drivers. For instance, the tram runs on the tramway. Also, passengers can go to every area by flat-rate fare. Additionally, passengers can know the products or services of companies effectively through advertisements. For these reasons, the tram is a helpful vehicle for passengers.

On the other hand, one issue exists with the tram too. That is the capacity of the tram. It is not enough. For instance, the capacity of one tram is 80 people per vehicle. At peak times, such as between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., roughly 130 passengers, including commuters, are waiting for the tram. As a result, tram companies have to increase their services.

In conclusion, the tram is a valuable vehicle for users because tram users can conserve time and money well.
