-Model Essay, Like A Potluck Book Club –

Some book clubs organize two types of clubs: focusing on one designated book, or any participant introducing their selected favourite book. Shinichi likes any participant to present their chosen books rather than discussing one specific book.

On the one hand, there are several drawbacks to discussing one book. First, some participants may not have enough time to read the designated book by the organizer. They would not have completed reading whole the pages in the specific book. Consequently, participants would not enjoy sharing book summaries. Second, when discussing specific books, participants need some contents of the designated book. To illustrate, readers may be required to search for historical backgrounds. Some participants would not enjoy sharing the book stories.

On the other hand, a potluck-style book club provides opportunities for presenters to share unique stories. For such reason, presenters can enjoy their precious time with other participants to share their chosen book information. Next, participants can explore various books brought by every presenter. As a result, participants can recognize their new perspectives.

In summary, a potluck-style book club gives every participant new unique perspectives. For this reason, Shinichi prefers a potluck-style book club rather than discussing a single book.
