In 2023, on Nov 10th, the writer (Shinichi) took the CELPIP exam in Tokyo. He had his first score as follows.

According to the CLB, the Canadian Language Benchmark shows candidates can apply for Express Entry above 7 (all sections). Shinichi couldn’t reach his achieving goal. But he doesn’t regret taking the CELPIP test because this test reveals his current position.

First Preparations
First, candidates may arrive at the test centre at 8:00 a.m. They elevated up to the floor. Candidates registered for the test. They show his identity certification (Passport). A Receptionist leads them to the locker room. Test takers take off their outers.
Second, the test centre staff did a security check. They said, “Could you check your pocket? You can bring your passport only.” They leave their belongings in their designated locker. Test centre staff call candidates their registration number. The test centre staff received their registrations.
Finally, the test centre staff led the candidate to the test room. They should check the microphone by themselves.
While Taking the Test
The CELPIP test begins with the Listening test. Test takers can choose the best answer and click on the next page. They prepare for choosing in 30 seconds and select the correct answer in 60-90 seconds. After that, they move on to the Reading test. It also takers can choose the answer.
In the Writing test, they should describe a message or answer a survey. It is shorter than the IELTS test, within 150-200. The Speaking test is unique. Takers should talk to the computer, like a call centre. Most questions should speak to a computer microphone within 60 seconds.

This test was simple. If the takers can utilize their computers, they would be able to fit the test wasn’t uncomfortable.
