Q: Some experts about transportation suggest companies should pay parking fees to the rest stops (its counterpart Japanese Service Area). Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? Write at least 250 words.

In the 20th century, some governments invested in constructing roads and expressways to transport cargo by number of trucks. But recently, some rest stops have struggled with drivers taking their recess for a long time. The government is considering imposing parking fees on companies. In my view, I believe that such attempts can obtain more benefits from logistic companies.

On the one hand, there are several drawbacks to charging additional fees to logistics companies. First, the costs of fuel like oil and gasoline are rising. Some logistic companies may have to pay tariffs to exporting countries. For such reasons, these companies may decline to afford their salaries to workforces. Second, the number of traffic accidents could increase. Rest stops are crucial facilities for all drivers to take their recess. But if the government permits imposing extra fees to all rest stops, drivers may avoid paid rest stops and not take breaks. This situation could lead to an increase in traffic incidents. Consequently, traffic accidents would occur frequently.

On the other hand, allowing extra charges to companies has some advantages. First, it could provide additional income for road maintenance. This income can utilize regular maintenance for equipment and facilities. As a result, driving can become safer. Second, such fees can help some drivers to behave better. For instance, every rest stop has a restroom. Road maintenance can allocate their extra income to cleaning professionals for sanitary. They can sustain comfortable rest stops. As a result, all drivers can enjoy their leisure time.

To sum up, it is an improvable attempt to permit extra charges for rest stops. Overall, The benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
